Profile: An ageing libero. Lacks the pace of younger years but capable of running the first 5 yards in his head. A great club man and a real stalwart - if you cut him he'd bleed BT Research! Stong in the tackle, with a cultured right foot and useful at set pieces. Yet to open his goalscoring account for the club, but almost managed to drive one home thorugh a forest of legs last season, only foiled by the keeper and the woodwork. A superb example to youngsters - never booked in his career and poular with team mates and opposition alike. Also has a penchant for the nutmeg. A great figure to have around the dressing room with a wealth of experience (no substitute for it of course) and a super line in motivational team talks. Will we ever see his like again?
